Service Description

The Rifle 101 Course fills out and reinforces the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning and using a carbine safely. Throughout the course, students will learn about the firearms' function and operation, proper ammunition selection, the fundamentals of marksmanship, and drills that will support shooter skills sustainment. Course Materials Provided by Student: Any AR platform, or commonly available commercial semiautomatic rifle which include but are not limited to; .223/5.56mm, .308/7.62mm, 300 Blackout, .45, 9mm, etc. Minimum of 500 rounds of weapon-appropriate ammunition Approved hearing protection Rifle Sling Sighting system on the rifle. (iron sights, red dot, LPVO) Magazine Pouch 3-4 Magazines Goals: Identify the basic parts of a carbine and understand how it functions. Know the four basic safety rules. Demonstrate safe carbine handling skills. Understand how to properly identify and fix a malfunction. Explain the fundamentals of marksmanship. Know how to properly zero your carbine. Explain how to disassemble and clean a carbine.
